The SBA Relationship Banker will evaluate commercial loan applications predominantly through the Small Business Administration loan programs. Interviews applicants and requests specific information for loan application and underwriting process. Structures credits in a manner consistent with Credit Union and SBA program guidelines. Develop relationships through friendly and responsive service that exemplifies Heritage’s mission to Improves Lives; Simplify Banking.
This position will be based out of the Jeffersonville / Clarksville / New Albany area and can serve our entire field of membership. Heritage is committed to our investment in the SBA loan programs and that’s why we’ve invested in a fully digital online application process eliminating many of the obstacles Small Business owners face when applying for SBA loans.
What you’ll do:
Generate new business by identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective commercial loan borrowers.
Evaluate loan requests, collect financial information, and conduct thorough financial analysis to assess creditworthiness and determine appropriate loan structures.
Prepare written credit proposals with clear and concise recommendations for loan approval or denial.
Build and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, referral sources, and other stakeholders through effective communication, regular follow-ups, and exceptional customer service.
Conduct comprehensive credit analysis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) or Certified Commercial Loan Officer (CCLO) certification are desirable.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending, including loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio management.
Ability to travel, primarily within the region.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with the SBA 7(a) and 504 program.
Exceptional communication skills, with excellent presentation, preparation, and delivery skills.
Proven track record of generating new business and achieving loan production goals.
Expertise in commercial lending, financial analysis, and customer relationship management.
