- Northumberland ($33.06)
- Charlestown ($32.27)
- Hopkinton ($32.25)
Which NH towns have the lowest property taxes?
When combining all local, county, and state property taxes, these towns have the lowest property tax rates in New Hampshire (as of January 1, 2023):
- Windsor ($3.39)
- New Castle ($4.48)
- Moultonborough ($4.78)
- Bartlett ($4.97)

Are local property taxes unfair?
Some of the towns with very high property taxes – such as Claremont – have sued the state over failing to provide adequate education funding. They argue it is unfair that towns with higher property values are able to fund better education for their students.
Others argue that it is fairer to let each town decide how much funding it wants to set aside for schools, without a burden of higher statewide taxes.
